Tanzania Update
Do you remember… If you are in P4-7, a member of staff, or a parent of a child that has left Ballyholme PS or Bangor Central IPS, you may remember that way back in 2016 you helped to raise nearly £6000 in Smarties tubes for the Campbell and McFerran families to take to Tanzania in East Africa. The families raised £15,000 in total to be solely used on projects either while they were there or to be continued after they had left. Click here for more information and pictures
  Ballyholme P7 Fun Day in aid of ABAANA Ballyholme PS Present The Lion King P4 Sponsored Skip for the British Heart Foundation June 2017 P4 completed a sponsored skip for the British Heart Foundation. They skipped a total of 13,513 times raising £782.79.  That's a staggering 150 skips per pupil. Well done to all who took part. P7 Present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Two Choirs took part in Bangor International Choral Festival with the Senior Choir winning their section. Part of the Senior Choir was involved in a joint concert with Strathearn Chamber Choir and the Miskelly Chorale in Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church. Children from Ballyholme Primary School were heard last Sunday on the John Anderson 'Sing Out' programme on Radio Ulster, singing a medley of songs from the two World Wars.   Charity News 2015/16 IMG_3305 IMG_3378 P7 raised over £660 for local charity Abaana as part of their Africa topic (December 2015). Term 1: Wings Appeal £40, Poppy Appeal £525, Abanna £660.40, Fairtrade £350.00 Term 2: Tearfund/MAD (Making a Difference) £2838.63 Term 3: MS £300   Sporting News 2015/16 Cross Country The boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Flahavans Cross Country League on 1st December 2015.  Daniel Playfair achieved 2nd place and Lukas Kenny placed 3rd. The boys team were 1st overall. Trampolining The Ballyholme trampolining team took part in the NI trampolining finals on Sunday 29th Nov 2015. The under 11 team of Jessica Rook, Elizah Chittick, Rachel Noble and Scarlette Houston achieved 2nd place. Michael Hill was placed 2nd as an individual. All of the above children have qualified for the Northern Zonal Schools Trampolining Finals in Newcastle England on Saturday 23rd January 2016. Swimming The Ballyholme Swimming Team took part in the Swim Ulster Schools Swimming Championships on Saturday 17th October 2015. All the Ballyholme relay teams qualified for the Irish Schools Swimming Championships in Dublin on Sunday 7th February.
