There are so many people who play a critical role delivering for our young people in the wider education and youth system, and too often we don’t acknowledge our gratitude to them.

I was delighted that my final external act as Minister was to present to Ballyholme Primary School a small token of appreciation to be passed on to Mrs Esther Smyth, who has given over 30 years service as a school crossing patrol guard for the children of Ballyholme, and due to retire at the end of term.
